Are you considering solar panels but you have questions regarding installation or how they work. Here you will find some of the questions we’re asked. If you don’t find what you are looking for, please call us on 07398398339
What happens if my solar pv is producing more power than I am using?
The surplus energy will be sold back to the grid or will be stored in your battery storage system.
Do solar panels still generate when its cloudy?
The panels will generate less but will work as they don't have to be in direct sunlight
How long do the panels last?
Solar panels will last about 30 years at full efficiency but will continue to work at a decreased efficiency after this period.
Is my roof suitable for solar panels?
Southerly-facing roofs with little to no shade and enough space to fit a solar panel system are best. Solar panels on either East or West facing roofs will still perform at 86% compared to South facing roofs.
Do solar panels need cleaning?
Solar panels are generally tilted at an angle and are self-cleaning, reducing the need for them to be cleaned, although we recommend once a year to get full efficiency.
Will my solar
If there is a power cut your inverter will switch off. This is a safety feature to protect workers who may be repairing the grid. A backup system can be installed, and this will enable you to use your solar energy in a power cut.
Do you want to store the surplus electricity that is generated from your solar panels? If so, solar battery storage is for you. Here are the answers to questions we’ve been asked a few times before.
Where can the batteries be stored?
The batteries can be stored any where as long as they have space around them to ventilate.
Can solar panels work without battery storage?
Yes, solar panels do work without the need for battery storage. The addition of battery storage allows you to use more of the energy you generate in your home rather than exporting it back to the grid.
